How can a debt management company help me?
If you are more than £3000 in debt then we can help
by offering advice and renegotiating your debts for you. Our
negotiators have many years of experience in dealing with
debts and financial issues at all levels of enquiry.
How is Debt Release Direct different from other debt
management companies?
Firstly we pride ourselves on being a professional total solutions
company here in the UK. We have unrivalled experience in dealing
with enquiries at many different levels. Moreover, our management
fee is fixed and not charged as a percentage of your payment
to us.
Will using Debt Release Direct make my credit rating
any worse?
By entering into a debt management program with Debt Release Direct you will be entering into a reduced payment
arrangement with your unsecured creditors, you should therefore not be taking out any more debt whilst on the
programme.
Any missed or significantly reduced payments to your creditors will effect your credit rating
with credit referencing agencies. Bad credit rating can effect your ability to take out further credit
for up to six years.
What kind of debts does Debt Release
Direct deal with?
At Debt Release Direct we deal with all types of debt but
we are specialists in dealing with severe debt cases, these
are usually debts of over £15000 owed to your creditors.
Every case is unique and we need to look at the whole picture
for you.
Can Debt Release Direct help me if
I have secured debts?
Debt Release Direct prides itself in helping people who may
be facing repossession, or simply need to save money on a
remortgage or secured loan. Please see
Homeowner's section.
Why shouldn’t I just renegotiate myself?
There is no problem in renegotiating the debt(s) yourself
however at Debt Release Direct we have fully trained negotiators
who know how to put together a proposal to your creditors
which would include a statement of liabilities, a financial
statement showing your income and expenditure and a surplus
or deficit. We also have relationships and contacts with most
of the finance houses.
How long does the whole process normally take?
Every case is unique and a lot depends on how quickly your
creditors react to our proposals, however we are usually turning
cases around in 1 month.
How does it work?
Your creditors are contacted with a letter of authority signed by you our client. This is sent with your financial statement, your income and expenditure and your statement of liabilities.
A proposal is put together and each of your creditors payments are calculated on a pro-rata payment method, meaning in line with the size of there debt level. We then collect from you our client one single monthly payment on a Standing order and pay out to your creditors each month your payments.
You will only be asked to pay what is fair and affordable to you once we have assessed your income and all essential living expenditure. As long as you our client make regular payments to us we are able to make payment to all of your creditors after a deduction of our management fee.
If I decide to go along with your advice and company
– I am paying a fee. Do you have a letter of contract?
To assure me that you will handle all the administration etc…
As discussed our management fee is fixed for the duration
of your plan, we deduct our management fee on a monthly basis
before paying your credit companies.
How much is the fee charged by Debt Release Direct?
Our fee is dependant on how many creditors we are paying for
you. this is directly linked to the amount of work our company
is doing for you on a month by month basis.
What do I do if the creditors still ring me at home
even though you are dealing with my cases?
If a creditor persists in contacting you, you take their name
and number for DCD to contact them on. We will do our best
to prevent creditor harassment but finance companies prefer
to continue their collection procedures until a new arrangement
is agreed.
What information will be required?
We need as much information as possible. Some creditors require
verification of wages etc. others, accept what we say. It
is important to deal with the debts in an open and transparent
way. That’s how we get agreement because the financial
institutions know we won’t give them any misleading
information.
What if I am afraid to tell my partner or my parents
about my situation? Will they need to know?
The information that you give to DCD is protected by the data
protection act and we will only discuss the case with yourself
or an authorised person.
How do you keep me up to date with negotiations of
my creditors?
You will be assigned to a dedicated case administrator who
will be responsible for you as a client. You will be given
full contact details of your case administrator. We can email
you every few days and always reply to email questions promptly.
